Lecture 2: SITE ( Scale of the Built Environment)

There are 7 scale used in the build environment which is:

The smallest scale is the OBJECT which refers to an item in the build environment and the actor is usually the industrial designer.

It followed by INTERIOR which refers to the interior design of an building. Actor that involve are usually the interior architect.

Next, BUILDING which refers to a structure or building that was design and build physically. Architect are the professionals that involve in the design of these structures.

It follow by PREMISE which is the environment and all the facilities in the building. The actor involve is usually the landscape architect.

Next, URBAN which refers to the specific area or town that are designed by the urban designer.

In the bigger scale, the REGIONAL that refers to the state or a city which involve a huge scale of land. THE actor involved is the planner.

The largest scale in the build environment is the GLOBAL. Global refers to the entire EARTH. The actors that involve in this stage is relatively huge compare to others because it involve every human beings in EARTH.
